Appalachian Barren Strawberry

Yellow, 5-petaled blooms appear from early to late spring over glossy, trifoliate, green leaves. Plants spread via rhizomes. This attractive evergreen native makes a great groundcover in shade to part sun. Good in dry soils under trees. Does not produce edible fruit.

Prefers partial shade and moist, well drained soil.  Can tolerate drought and dry soils once established, but may need supplemental water during establishment.
