Mazus radicans

Motley Mazus

Very unusual creeper. Foliage colors range from brown to green with some black. Incredibly dense mats cover the soil surface completely. Topped in summer (4-6 weeks) with large snapdragon-like flowers—white tops, purple bottoms and yellow throat.

Blooms are twice as big as the leaves. Excellent between stones or as lawn substitute. Prefers moist soil. Heavy foot traffic. Space on 6" centers.
