Fantastic large ruby red blooms have an outer ring of slightly cupped petals with a center dome of frilled petals. Fragrant. Very good for cutting. Attractive to butterflies. Midseason.
Prefers deep, well-drained, fertile, slightly alkaline soil. Do not plant crown more than 1" deep in warmer regions. Appreciates a bit of afternoon shade in southern areas. Remove old foliage in fall to prevent disease.
