Showy spikes of 2" milky-white hooded flowers in late summer into fall. The new growth in spring emerges with a very dark black cast and matures to dark green.
Prefers partial shade, but can take full sun if given ample moisture. Grows best in moist, even boggy soil, but will adapt to drier soils.
