Lance-leaved Loosestrife

Very small, 5-petaled, starry, yellow blooms nod on fine stalks in the upper leaf axils  in summer. The narrow, lance shaped foliage has a distinct purple to bronze hue. Plants may form small colonies. Native to most of the eastern half of N. America.
