Vernonia lettermannii 'Iron Butterfly'

This compact, well-branched Arkansas/Oklahoma native has fine foliage that resembles Amsonia hubrichtii. In late summer it produces true purple blooms that attract lots of butterflies. Suitable for almost any soil.

Prefers full sun. It is very tolerant of hot, dry locations, but can withstand occasional flooding.
