Silene dioica

Catchfly

Loose clusters of bright, light pink blooms with notched petals appear in spring over light-green foliage. Stems and leaves often slightly sticky - hence the common name of Catchfly. Not nataive, burt has naturalized in much of the Northeastern U.S.

Prefers sun to light shade and moist, neutral to slightly alkaline soil, but will grow in most any type of soil.  Self sows.
