A North American native wildflower with a creeping habit and small spikes of violet, lavender, or white blooms. Blue-green serrrated leaves can be evergreen in warmer climates.
It thrives in pastures, woodlands, and roadsides, which makes it very tough and adaptable in the garden. Member of the mint family. Host plant of the Clouded Sulphur butterfly. Deadhead to prevent self-seeding.
