4"-5" velvety, purple red June blooms are occasionally semi-double and later September blooms are single. Blooms are very abundant. Prune back by 1/3 after flowering to promote new growth and additional bloom. Group 2.
Clematis enjoy a sunny location with well-drained neutral to alkaline soil where their roots are kept cool by shade or mulch. Never overwater. Can be grown under black walnut trees.
