This cool-season, clump-forming grass tends to form dense, low tussocks of dark green, rolled leaves up to 20" long. Plants flower in late spring with airy, variably colored blooms (silver, gold, green, purple). Blooms turn yellowish tan as they age. NATIVE.
Prefers moist to average soil and light or dappled shade.

Prefers full sun to light shade and moist well-drained soil. A meadow native, it is excellent for erosion control. Semi-evergreen.
