Showy whorls of pink leafy bracts surround small yellow blooms with purple spots. Blooms are clustered around the stems above the leaf axils. Native to eastern US.
Prefers sun to light shade and dryish soils, particularly sandy areas and coastal plain areas that have well-drained soil.
