Visitors are welcome anytime during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. We are open Saturdays from March 22nd to October 11th, 2008, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., weather permitting. Other times of the year, Saturday hours are by appointment only.
You may wish to purchase one of our retail catalogs ($3.00 on-site or $5.00 by mail to cover postage). It offers descriptions and growing techniques for the 2200 different varieties we grow, as well as numerous lists of plants perfect for different cultural conditions. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, checks, and cash as methods of payment. Also, for your convenience, we do offer gift certificates in any increments. Please feel free to use the golf carts located in the parking lot shed. But please read all operating rules and instructions before you drive. Our facility encompasses 20 acres so the golf carts should prove to be very useful. We are very excited about our expansion and would like to thank you for your kind words and continued patronage. Sandy’s Plants, Inc. is fortunate to have a hard working staff dedicated to customer satisfaction and to growing quality perennials. On May 17, 2008, we will again be teaming up with Maymont for our seventh annual Maymont Day at Sandy’s Plants. We will have guest speakers discussing different gardening topics, roving gardening experts, and a wagon ride to and from your car. One half of all proceeds from plants sales that day will go directly to Maymont to benefit one of Richmond's most beloved treasures. We hope to provide an enriching experience to gardeners searching for plants ranging from the common to the rare and unusual. This will be unlike any other day at Sandy's Plants and we hope that you and your gardening friends will join us. We grow many plants in display gardens to determine hardiness, bloom time, and growth habits.
These gardens offer a wonderful combination of the tried and true perennials intermixed with the new and more rare varieties. We hope that the gardens give our customers a chance to see what these plants will look like in a landscape. We hope that you will take the time to observe and enjoy the gardens. We will try to help you make the wisest plant selections for your needs; however, Sandy’s Plants is a working farm, not a full service garden center. We hope you can be patient with us.
