Large pink , bell-shaped flowers with a distinct red eye. Foliage resembles maple leaves. Very slow to break dormancy in spring. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Native cultivar.
Prefers sun to light shade and moist, acidic soils. Although it is happiest in wet soils, it will tolerate ordinary garden soil. Tolerant of clay soil.
