4" deep purple blooms with a white bar and purple stamens. Blooms June to September. Attractive seed heads. Prune back hard in late February or early March. Deer resistant. One of the most reliable bloomers!

Prefers a sunny location with well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil where its roots are kept cool by shade or mulch.  Never overwater. Can be grown under black walnut trees.
