5" blooms of bright red have small yellow eye zones and green centers. Blooms from June to frost. Readily sends up additional fans and stalks over the season. Diploid, semi-evergreen. Rebloomer. Plant patented.
Prefers full sun to light shade and moist, well-drained soil. Remove yellow foliage and cut back bloom stalks after floweringing to encourage additional bloom. Divide every three years.
Characteristics & Attributes
Trumpet like flowers in a wide range of colors. Individual blooms last for only one day, but the profusion of buds assures near constant flowering throughout the season. The foliage is arranged in fans of longitudinally folded leaves. Adaptable low maintenance plants, they are very resistant to drought and heat but can also tolerate wetter conditions, coastal sites, and clay soil. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
