Aster (Eurybia) divaricatum

White Wood Aster

Attractive heart-shaped leaves topped by loads of small white blooms with yellow to red centers in late summer to early fall. Excellent for shade, but will take some sun. Readily self sows. Very attractive to wildlife. Native.

Prefers rich-moist soil, but will tolerate poor dry soils as well. Attractive to butterflies & hummingbirds. Naturalizes very easily in shade. Remove spent flowers if you want to limit spread. Native. Can tolerate some drought, but if plants are kept too dry, they may develop powdery mildew on their leaves.
