Santolina virens

Lavender Cotton

Bright green, fragrant foliage and a compact, globe-like growth habit characterize this semi-woody evergreen.  Yellow button flowers 1/2" across bloom in early summer.

Demands well-drained soil. Wet soils are fatal. Tolerant of drought and coastal conditions. Prune after blooming and pinch frequently to maintain compact form. Attractive to butterflies. Deer resistant. Great for edging gardens or pathways.
