Spigelia marilandica

Indian Pink

A wonderful native that blooms in early summer with bright red, upward facing trumpets with yellow interiors. Although a slow grower it will form impressive colonies with time.

Prefers partial to full shade and moist, humus-rich soils, but it will tolerate drier soils.
