Attractive, delicate blue, evergreen foliage shaped rather like tiny spatulas and cartoon hands. Yellow to chartreuse flowers in early summer. Host plant for the swallowtail butterfly larvae. CAUTION: Leaves are toxic if ingested. Handling plants may cause skin irritation.
Tolerates partial shade. Drought tolerant once established. Shear after blooming for neater appearance. Deer resistant.
Prefers well-drained soil. Do not fertilize heavily.
