At Sandy's Plants, we take great pride in the quality of the plants we grow. Our plants are container grown in open beds outside to ensure durability. Slow release fertilizer is added to our soil mix to ensure the continued quality of the plants after you receive them. We make every effort to picture tag as many of our plants as possible, but since we grow so many new and rare varieties, we must print some of our own tags on thermal labels. Cultural information found in our catalog, on this website, and on our computer tags is based on careful observations made by our staff here at Sandy's Plants in Richmond, VA (Zone 7). In the case of new plants, this information is derived from all available literature.
In addition to the rare and unusual, we grow many varieties of traditional favorites such as Hostas, Ferns, Daylilies, and Grasses. You can find additional general information about these plants by choosing the appropriate category on our Perennial Catalog tab.
We proudly grow the STEPABLES® line of groundcover plants, which are great for uses such as between stepping stones, around shrubs or perennials, in areas difficult for growing turf and so forth. These are grown in 3 1/2" pots that are handy for multiple planting. These are usually sold by the flat of 18 pots.
Many of our STEPABLES® plants are grown in greenhouses by necessity. When ordering STEPABLES® in the early Spring, please keep in mind that most of the varieties will be coming out of a greenhouse and will therefore be more tender than the other perennials you receive.
We guarantee our plants to be healthy, in good condition, and properly named (to the best of our knowledge) when you receive them. However, since we cannot control conditions after the plants leave our nursery, we DO NOT guarantee them unless we experience similar crop problems here at the nursery.
